About the Cold Climate Garden

Photo of Anita KarlsonWelcome and thank you for stopping by!

On this site you will find information about growing your own food in a cold climate using the permaculture principles. I am creating a small permaculture garden with a food forest outside my appartment building. The garden is open to all and some of the other people that live here also occationally help out in the garden. Take a look at some of the projects we are working on!

When you are in a cold climate it is also important to extend the season as much as possible, so in addition to the garden outside, I am also growing food on my balcony. This is much easier than most people imagine! So even if you don’t have space for a garden outside, you can still grow some on your balcony, poarch or stair case. Here you can learn how to use the space you have to grow some of your own vegetables and herbs.

Foraging for your own food is also important in a temperate cold climate. There is plenty of food out in the forests. You just have to know what to forage, and how to do it. If you didn’t get your free copy of my ebook on foraging for the Stingy Nettle yet – you can go and grab it here!

So, take a look around and don’t forget to sign up to get news and updates from the Cold Climate Garden! You can also follow me on Instagram to get inspiring photoes from the garden.
